EVC: Typical Machine Tool Projects



  • Provided first-line technical support for a start-up company manufacturing motion control products until the company grew large enough to hire in-house staff.
  • Traveled to field installations in Nebraska and Ontario to troubleshoot the PC-based control systems of a family of panel processing machines. Designed and installed upgrades to solve problems that were identified. Also provided documentation and training for client’s personnel to install the upgrades in other installations.
  • Traveled to Indiana and Wisconsin to install custom panel-processing machines.  Also trained local personnel to operate and maintain the machines.
  • Re-wrote legacy control software for a family of machine tools, in order to upgrade the operating system from Windows 3.1 to Windows 7.
  • Designed various mechanical sub assemblies for a manufacturer of industrial panel saws.
  • Designed, built and installed PLC based controls for industrial panel saws.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 1950's vintage machinery controlled by relay logic.
